The Safety Section enforces the Amusement Rides and Amusement Attractions Safety Act, Elevator Safety Act, High-Pressure Steam Boiler Inspection Law, Zipline & Canopy Tour Act. In addition, we administer an OSHA Onsite Consultation Program which is designed to assist businesses in West Virginia to identify and eliminate safety hazards in the workplace.
We provide oversight and registration to contractors who perform inspections of Amusement Rides and Amusement Attractions, Elevators, High-Pressure Steam Boilers and Zipline & Canopy Tours and issue certifications, licenses and permits to operate.
A state boiler inspector inspects uninsured boilers.
