Polygraph Licensure

West Virginia state law restricts employers from requiring any employee, or prospective employee, to submit to a polygraph examination, lie detector, or other similar examination to evaluate truthfulness for the purpose of screening new hires or continuing the employment of any employee within this state, outside of a criminal investigation.

State law also sets the requirements and procedures for licensing polygraph examiners.
