Wage Bonding

 

With the exception of those companies that qualify for an exemption, every employer, person, firm or corporation engaged, or about to engage, in construction work or the severance, production or transportation of minerals (excluding railroads and water transporters), is required to post a wage bond with the West Virginia Division of Labor to protect the wages of employees. The bond is maintained by the Division of Labor until such time that the company qualifies for a release or the bond is used to pay employee wages.
