How to Renew a License

​​​​​​Out of state contractors with employees working in WV must provide proof of Workers' Compensation and Unemployment as soon as your online renewal process has been completed. This information can be sent via email to CLBoard@wv.gov​ or facsimile to (304) 558-5174.

 

Those who already possess a current contractor license may use a VISA, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express card to renew their license. To use the electronic renewal option, you will be asked to certify that you are in good standing and compliance with:

Once received by the Contractor Licensing Board, the information you provide on the following pages will be processed and validated. If all your information is correct, you will receive your new license within a few days. If we are unable to process your renewal, you will be informed of the reason(s) for rejection with a list of the non-compliance(s) needing corrected. If the non-compliance(s) are not resolved within fifteen (15) days of the renewal date, a $25 late fee may be assessed.

 

This online renewal process allows you to renew your license with the West Virginia Contractor Licensing Board. Upon receiving payment, compliance will be verified and your license issued.

 

Note: You cannot access your license to renew until approximately forty-five (45) days before the expiration date.
