Contractor License New Application

Out of state contractors with employees working in WV must provide proof of Workers' Compensation and Unemployment as soon as your online license process has been completed. This information can be submitted via email to Licensing@wv.gov or facsimile to (304) 558-5174.

To be able to submit a new license application online, you will be required to certify that you are in good standing and in compliance with the:

This online license process allows you to submit your Contractor License application with the West Virginia Contractor Licensing Board. Once received, the information you provide on the following pages will be processed and validated.

If all your information is correct, your new license will be mailed within a few days. 

If we are unable to process your license, you will be informed of the reasons for denial and asked to correct any problems.  If your contractor license non-compliance issues are not resolved within forty-five (45) days from receipt, the refund process will be started.
